Masters Intercounties 2017

Tuesday, 31 October 2017 23:09

It is with great regret that due to lack of responses we are unable to field a team for this years Intercounty competition on 12th November 2017, and have therefore withdrawn the team from this event.

The decision has not been taken lightly but due to the lack of responses to the initial emails sent out we are unable to field a team that has the number of swimmers we require and also the amount of swimmers across all of the age groups to be able to put a team together that would be in a strong position to be competitive in this event.

Thank you to those who did respond to the initial emails, and we apologise that you will be unable to compete and represent the county at what is an enjoyable event, but we have had to take a lot in consideration when making a decision to withdraw the team and unfortunately based on numbers of responses, we have had to take this tough decision.

I am sorry that we have had to take these necessary measures, but we hope we can put a team into next years competition.

Inter counties 2017 The Hertfordshire ASA National Inter County team travelled to Sheffield on Saturday 7th October for the Swim England County Team Championships 2017 after a team training session at Westminster Lodge. The team were in good voice on the three-hour journey up, entertaining the adults with their enthusiastic if sometimes out of time and tune singing!

On Sunday the team made their way to Ponds Forge for the competition. Team Captains Laura Copping and James Woodward had been entrusted with the obligatory face paint, and a blue and white stripe, dot and handprint extravaganza ensued in the topmost corner of the stands as the team readied themselves for action with a healthy dose of fun.
